This is not supposed to be cute, backhanded, or naive. I have such diverse opinions that I'm not sure which party, candidate, or ideology best fits me. To be honest, I feel like I am not represented by anyone in this country.
Here's a list of my fundamental beliefs:
- The government screws everything up.
- The private sector operates on greed, not charity.
- I believe that all war is murder.
- I also believe that killing a fetus is murder.
- Furthermore, I think the 2nd Amendment is outdated and dangerous.
- Fiscal responsibility should be required of the Congress and the President.
- I believe that there is a real terrorist threat to the sovereignty of the U.S.
- I believe that every American should have medical coverage.
- As a college graduate, I do not believe that the government should pay for all people to go to college. You should have to earn your way into college.
- Social security is broken but must be saved.
- The war in Iraq was a mistake, but pulling out now may not limit American and Iraqi deaths.
- The fair tax makes perfect sense.
- America needs to talk to all countries, including those of "the axis of evil."
- America is not the best country in the world.
- Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely--regardless of political party or home country.
- The Constitution is not an infailable document.
- God exists.
- Religions are the root evil in the world.
- Global warming is a fact.
- I believe in absolute truth.
