With my dear wife Kathie's encouragement, I visited my local home brew store and gathered the necessary equipment..My goal is to brew a Celebration Ale, a Steam Beer, an Irish Stout and an IPA. More below after you pop the top....
My local store Keystone Home Brew carries most anything you'd need..I picked up ingredient kits for the four beers..It's really cool...
I am starting with the intermediate extract steeped grain method.
My next batches will include acquiring organic ingredients but trying to be as fool proof as possible for my first run..
Starting with the Celebration Ale as I want it to be done by Thanksgiving (hopefully)..
I have enjoyed cooking for many years so this looks like a piece of cake..
I have pre boiled the water and have it outside cooling...this is to minimize potential of contamination. I have read the instructions and prepared gallon of sanitizer in the fermentor and have my utensils, thermometer and parts soaking.
Now to start my boil..
This is exciting..I hope that all this works out..since I am a Smuttynose fan with a Co2 setup, I hope the home brew tastes good..I will be kegging it...
The prospect of bottling kept me from attempting this before..
So have a nice day gardening, repairing, etc..I am on the home front taking care of natures true wonder (not children!!!) BEEERRR!!!!
Tada----To the Bat Cave!
