Keith is back with a special comment, and all I can say is THANK GOD...
On Daviel Levin, the former U.S. Acting Assistant Attorney General, who was himself waterboarded to determine whether or not the act constituted torture and was therefore counter to the claims of the Bush Admininstration that it was not.
Water-boarding, he said, is torture.
Legally, it is torture .
Practically, it is torture.
Ethically, it is torture .
And he wrote it down.
Wrote it down somewhere, where it could be contrasted with the words of this country's 43rd President: "The United States of America does not torture."
Made you into a liar, Mr. Bush.
Made you into, if anybody had the guts to pursue it, a criminal.

Perhaps, if my timing is right, any video links to the comment can be put here?
Why do I say just in time? Because today, I was reduced to tears, the weight of the world on me, after reading the fantastic diary by Shannika and seeing those pictures, on the situation in Pakistan and the lawyers in fine suits standing for the rule of law, and how it reflects the desperate situation we could be headed in, if history and the desire of the neo-cons is anything to heed. The Democrats Feinstein and Schumer just mauling my faith in Democrats as well, the way so much seems to be falling all around in my faith for anything good to happen before worse things occur. I just NEED to hear something valid and powerful, to state the truth about the liar Bush, about the torture this country now seems to stand by, and the countless things that have occurred these past 6+ years to reduce the Constitution to toilet paper by this administration. I'm overwhelmed with despair today at global warming, at corporate media, by the drumbeats of war with Iran, and now Syria, when Pakistan has all those nukes, and that dastardly Osama Bin Laden too by the way. Not to mention the pending approval of Mukasey..and even if he's not approved, Bush gets those recess appointments, for crying out loud! A year is just too long for Bush to still be ion office! ugh..
All hail Keith who once again, gives me a slight ray of hope, because he's still on the air, and not on the streets being dragged away by Blackwater and any other police ready to turn on their own fellow citizens.
Thanks for reading my little rant, it's not nearly eloquent enough to express the feelings of doom that settled on me today. But I hope for a glimmer from Keith to give me some gumption to keep on writing the letters and making the calls to our representatives, to remind them that, by the way, they're supposed to REPRESENT us, the people, not their corporate lobbyists. I'm not convinced that it's enough, but whatever..I'll do what I can til I am forced to not do anything anymore.
