Point made.
Read comments below to see who is more civil, Karl.
Okay, since I'm being blasted for no comments, and my comments have disappeared, I'll try this way:
When Michele Malkin tried to make hay over a post using the "C" word on Kevin Drum's blog, there was some low tier talk radio show host who boasted on his blog how such language was impossible for the right, as civil as they were. So I did a simple google of Hillary and the 'C' word and posted some results. He said, sure, there are SOME examples, but we're far worse. So I posted some more. And some more, until he completely backtracked and apologized -- a talk radio show host.
So when I see Karl Rove make the same mistake, I relish the idea of putting that to the test. Oh? We can't match the honey sweetness of your side? So, I simply went to one of the sites Rove mentioned as incivil, and posted the name of some rightwing sites, and a quote from a weekly newspaper by Ted Nugent I found on freerepublic -- which doesn't allow vulgarity.
And, I had some snarky comments about how there was no way such site names could possibly offend us, as uncivil as we are, and how we're always accused of using such racist terms by Malkin thinking, of course, people would be shocked and offended to see exactly how horrid some of the stuff out there is. I just didn't realize how much so.
Fifty comments in 15 minutes, all begging for me to delete and have me banned -- even though they got the point, even though they didn't think I was being racist. Simply posting the names of sites that exist on the right burned their eyes so horribly, they had to have it taken away!
Whoah. Okay. So, no, I wasn't expecting to piss people off like this. I was just wanting to show people how godawful bad it is out there, and what a complete fraud Rove's comments are.
I had no idea. Folks here can't even tolerate the stuff Ted Nugent says in alt weeklies, let alone the unmoderated comments that are out there.
Yet, no, I don't regret it. Ban me if you want. Someone below mentioned other horrid things I showed people in the past -- like the fact that we shove bananas up people's asses in Abu Ghraib. Yep, what a horrible thing I do, telling people we shove bananas up people's asses.
Wish we could go on acting like the only thing that went on in Abu Ghraib was naked pyramids and fraternity hazing. When people tell me that, you know what I say? I say: we shove bananas up people's asses. How many lives did we save?
Now I regret taking down the post once it was clear the level of outrage, which I was unprepared for, and people start mischaracterizing it, like I said these things. So now I regret taking it down. Not putting it up.
So yeah, there's a site out there called niggerobama.com and hillaryisacunt.org. There sure is. I didn't come up with those names. Those are just two examples of what you'll find. Yet, around here, we can't even stomach the name of the URLs they buy put together.
What a vulgar bunch we are, for not being able to handle hearing what they say, reading what they write, or knowing what they stick in people's asses.
Live with it, people. This is who we're up against.
