Before raising my gavel in a charge of hypocrisy leveled against an icon of some of the causes the Cavalry is known to support let me clear my own conscience. I recently accepted and lost employment with an outlet of a major oil company. I not only sold refined petroleum fuel product but also tobacco. In short in moment of desperation to survive I became a death merchant in the employ of war profiteers. I have spoken my shame. Now I shall speak of my rage.
I was impressed to hear Al Gore’s passionate acceptance speech of his Nobel Peace Prize medal and diploma. I was impressed; I sat on the edge of my seat listening to him call out the political leaders here and abroad for their lack of will. I was riveted by his intense call for all people to dedicate themselves to this cause and rally behind it. I knew what had to follow. Such conviction demanded an action. If he made a rallying call surely he would feel bound to lead the charge into the halls of power.
Al Gore Jr. took the opportunity to not declare his candidacy again.
As I am at a point in my life that my heart can sink no lower, I found it rising to meet this stunning silence. Not with the lightness of hope, but with the burning heat of rage. This learned man can claim no ignorance for we have all seen the polls. This passionate man of conviction can claim no doubt for his success; it is all but assured all he need do is run the race. Instead of taking his rightful place and knocking Hillary the Hawk and all the Reich Wingers into theirs, this bottle blonde blow hard calls on us to beg the unwilling to do a job they will only have because he didn’t accept it when we all but lay it at his feet! I am sorry Mister Gore, but you have lost all creditability this time. Don’t call on us to make difficult choices when you turn your back on an easy one.
There is no desire without ire
