NBC and others have had to start making refunds to their customers.
It is well known that broadcasting companies have been losing viewership for a long time now. Today Reuters reports that they have started to refund and offer free ad slots for low ratings to advertisers.
Much like the airline industry, the products are pretty much all the same and there are too many providers. They are out of ideas on how to entertain (read distract from reality). I see this as a very good thing, there are some very damning data on how bad television is for us. Let's hope it turns off a few more tv sets and turns on a few more brain cells out there.
