I'm running a very unscientific poll among us small, progressive followers known as Kossacks.
I want to get a better idea of where ardent Hillary supporters are from.
Here's my hypothesis, dedicated Hillary supporters mostly come from strong blue states.
But why do I care and why would it make a difference...
I have run across many Republicans and Independents who have an irrational, almost cult like, hatred of Hillary. Heck, there are even some progressives like that. The ones I have met tend to live in red states or swing states (like where I'm at, in Colorado).
One conservative Republican colleague of mine recently told me that he would be okay with the Republicans losing the White House for 4 years. He considers it almost like a punishment he would have to endure for having 8 years of Bush. And it seems like he has already capitulated to this inevitability. But his retribution for 8 years of Bush comes with one caveat, the Democrat would have to be anybody but Hillary.
So, why are ardent Hillary supporters unaware of how much hatred (even unsupported, irrational hatred) there seems to be for Hillary across this country (at least in what I've run across).
Is it because:
It doesn't really exist except in my mind?
It does exist, but Hillary supporters won't see it?
It does exist, but Hillary supporters don't run across it because they all live in NY, CA, MD and DC (give or take a state)?
So, I offer the poll below.
Please, everyone, you're on the honor system here, only dedicated Hillary supports vote. And vote in your home state, not the state you may be volunteering in.
As for me, I disclose that I like Edwards. I'm not much of an HRC fan. I'll vote for her in the GE if she's the nominee, but I think the Dems will do better down ticket without her. I'm not saying she won't win the GE, I just think the Dems do better without her.
BTW: I used the 2004 GE results to break out the state groupings below.
