We all know just how closely our every utterance is scrutinized, weighed and considered by the Very Serious People, who try so hard to control our lives and tell us what to do, think and say. Hint: they're not listening.
Americans have a grave responsibility looming: choosing the next President of the United States, the person picking up the mop and bucket to clean up after George Bush. Talk about hosing out the Stygian stables.
Of course, many of us here prefer that we begin that process yesterday by impeaching the Vice-President and President as the Constitution of the United States demands. I'll continue to ignore the Bush apologists on the right and the vote counters on the left to call for just such action.
I'll be supporting Dems here and at my new digs Rattlesnakepoint. The curtains are still going up, but we're open. Now to the candidates.
Dodd did what all Dems should have been doing long ago: stand up to Bush. Biden speaks from the heart and has an important role to play in the process. Richardson could yet surprise many and will clearly win some attention from a new administration.
Obama and his message of conciliation resonates with many here. I respect the sincerity of many of his supporters. If Obama isn't speaking from the heart, he's certainly fooled a lot of bright, committed people.
HRC impressed a decade ago, but not for reasons that will win her a place in the pantheon of dutiful wives. Her intellect and single-minded ambitions were on full display during her own run for the US Senate and during her husband's run for the White House.
Edwards speaks the message closest to my heart. Selling our children's future for the illusion that we'll be living in Malibu with the stars is criminally irresponsible.
A working middle-class organized around unions and professional associations is the best hope for all Americans. Edwards articulates that plan for me best.
Kucinich is the candidate who should win. His heart and head are in the right place. I don't much care whether he claimed to see a UFO or not. He has the courage to speak-out.
DKOS will remain the most important site for Dems for a long time to come. Everyone here has a voice and this place sets the standard for open, honest debate, IMHO.
Happy Holidays to one and all.
