Markos just posted a blistering health care diary, in which he castigates the broken for-profit health scam (er, insurance) system for murdering a teenager who needed a liver transplant. He also indicts all of the presidential candidates whose plans enable the current for-profit system.
Memo to Kos: That would be all of the current candidates except for one... Dennis Kucinich.
(more on the flip)
In the diary, Kos even admits that he has a health issue that is unresolved due to the dysfunctional nature of the for-profit system:
I've been locked with my own battle with Blue Shield over what is really a minor (still unresolved) health issue, those who need far more expensive care as they fight for their lives are in far worse shape, and people are dying as a result.
Yet, Kos - who appears to despise Dennis Kucinich - can't even bring himself to mention the reality that Kucinich is the only candidate to support single-payer, universal health care, not for profit. Kucinich has the only plan endorsed by Michael Moore.
Now, I want to make clear that my main point is not that Kos should be choosing Kucinich as his "top choice" of the current candidates. My point is that Kos has consistently and repeatedly treated Kucinich like crap. Kos has advocated that Kucinich be primaried, and says "ugh" about him repeatedly.
Do you agree with my premise that Kos owes Kucinich a lot more respect and recognition for championing progressive causes that are supported by the dKos community?
Examples of causes Kucinich champions (I've never seen Kos even mention one word of recognition for these):
- ending the occupation of Iraq
- canceling NAFTA and the WTO
- investigating whether or not the President and Vice President broke the law and committed high crimes and misdemeanors
