The New York Times shows us their contempt for the Bush Administration today.
Out of panic and ideology, President Bush squandered America’s position of moral and political leadership, swept aside international institutions and treaties, sullied America’s global image, and trampled on the constitutional pillars that have supported our democracy through the most terrifying and challenging times. These policies have fed the world’s anger and alienation and have not made any of us safer.
Yeah, I feel your pain NYT, but.....
Bush and his enablers have taken this country down a very dark path. All empires come to an end. And we are likely at the beginning of the end of the empire of the United States.
Bush was enabled by a Republican congress for 6 years. He has been enabled by a weak democratic congress for one year. And equally important, he has been enabled by war-mongers in the press who were absolutely giddy about taking this country to perpetual war.
The extremely critical NYT editorial makes passing comments about Bush's advisers, Cheney, and Congress.
Comma but however............
It makes absolutely no mention of the Bush enablers found in the press. But that would be embarassing , wouldn't it? After all, starting in one week, the NYT becomes the biggest Enabler of the Enablers.
They publish this editorial on the last day of the year... as though it deserved special attention. But it would make a more lasting impression if it wasn't going to be followed up in one week by the first published column from the head cheerleader of this disastrous presidency.
The newspaper with the largest circulation in the world is enabling an enabler.
The editorial rings hollow given their recent appointment of this war-mongering scumbag columnist.
