The Story is here
The money quote:
"According to one influential Democratic insider, close associates of the former Vice President have communicated to him and other prominent fund-raisers who are uncommitted to the other ’08 candidates that Mr. Gore will consider entering the race—if an opening presents itself—in September."
Now, I am all for a Gore candidacy, my reasons are below:
Not only is Al Gore a rock star full of potential today, he has the credibility and power as an intelligent guy to be president.
Frank Luntz, the Republican pollster, mentioned in the Rolling Stone article last month that Gore's campaign slogan could be one word: "Imagine". Think about what could have been for the last 2 terms, and think about what coud be for the next 2 terms.
He has been right on pretty much every issue, the first Iraq War, the 2nd Iraq War, Global Warming... etc.
He is a Vietnam Vet.
He is a Vanderbilt Law School alum, even though I go to George Washington Law School, this is considered a plus because he's not an MBA like W.
He would have Moveon.org's endorsement in a heartbeat after he got in the race.
He would have millions upon millions of dollars immediately after he entered the race.
And, most importantly, (to me at least), the day he announced is the day I take a leave of absence from school and go to work for his campaign. I'm dead serious.
