I have an idea for the next time someone tries to argue whether it was worth breaking every international law and invading Iraq. Simply ask this question.
If we had to do it again, knowing all we know, the lack of WMD, the human and financial cost, the cost to the reputation of our country, and so forth,
"would we do it again?"
There is only one possible answer to this question. Try as they may to tell us that we cannot leave, that chaos would ensue, that the terrorists ( freedom fighters)would attack us at home; we need to make them admit that the premise of the war was wrong in the first place. It was the wrong option at the wrong time.
Every other arguement is pointless. If you cannot make this arguement convincingly, what hope have you to discuss the future?
You cannot argue with unfetterd hindsight.
