Sorry for the short diary, but:
I saw this headline in yahoo.com in the front page:
"U.N. says Iran refuses to halt nuke development"
The article title, when you click on the link says:
"Report on Iran: Nuclear work ongoing " link
I am not sure why the front page would say "nuke development" - UN has NOT said the Iran is developing nukes (unless the term nukes means nuclear power). And the article heading clearly is different.
I get enraged by this kind of coverage - there is little doubt in my mind that the headline in the front page is supposed to provoke people. Now, the so called MSM actions in the United States have gone far beyond mere ethical violations. Iran coverage by AP, in particular, makes it a weapon in the hands of the neocons. I hold the MSM directly responsible for the deaths of innocents in Iraq and Iran.
We all agree that dictators such as Saddam have to be removed because they (not their subjects) are responsible for aggressive war. But, in a democracy power is wielded by the people and public opinion in the USA seems to allow killing innocents in other countries. As shapers of public opinion (as wilfully as the above article), aren't the AP journalists acting as participants in these wars?
