Pontificator diaried this yesterday, but I believe it warrants more coverage.
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Monday he considers homosexuality to be immoral and the military should not condone it by allowing gay personnel to serve openly:
"I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way,"

Excuse me General? What do you call an unnecessary war that has killed over 3,000 Americans and over 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians? Those who live in the real world would call that IMMORAL.
And make no mistake, this is the kind of "coded" language the right-wing loves to use. They demean gays and incite violence against them, then the Gen. Pace's and Ann Coulter's of the world attend their churches and sleep well at night.
Meanwhile, things like this happen on a daily basis: A Broken Neck and Crushed Face by WI Dem:
Well, last Saturday night, my friend was sitting in his apartment, doors locked, enjoying a quiet night watching TV. All we know so far is that someone broke into his apartment and beat him almost to death. He had his neck broken, his eye sockets were crushed, broken nose, teeth and bones in his mouth smashed, cheek bones destroyed, and his skull smashed. The attacker left him for dead, but not before he left a note behind that said, "God despises the men who lie with other men".
What would make one human being so angry as to walk into another human being's apartment and nearly beat them to death for being gay? Simple, his church leaders, politicians, right-wing talking heads and now the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have told him it's OK. "These people are 'immoral', they are 'sinners', do what you need to do."
So Gen. Pace, sleep well tonight. But remember, somewhere a young gay man or woman is being violently attacked and now, you too have their blood on your hands.
