Full Committee Markup
Emergency Supplemental for Iraq, Veterans

*** THURSDAY HEARINGS ARE POSTPONED DUE TO MARKUP ***
I'm as upset as everyone over the apparent capitulation by the House Democratic leadership over limiting Bush's authority for taking military action against Iran.
However, there is an important paragraph in the AP story that tells me there is still time to act.
An important point has been overlooked in discussing how this sausage was made: This bill hasn't been voted on yet in full Committee. It is going to be marked up on Thursday morning.
The developments occurred as Democrats pointed toward an initial test vote in the House Appropriations Committee on Thursday on the overall bill, which would require the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq by Sept. 1, 2008, if not earlier.
There is still time to call the members of the House Appropriations Committee and register your displeasure over how this bill was watered down.
Members of the full Appropriations committee. Don't see your Rep on the list? Call and tell him or her to get the language reinserted.
