Are We, the People, Sovereign of America, or is someone else usurping Our Sovereignty for themselves?
Because, the President can be our servant, or our master, but not both. So this question of who exactly is in which station needs to be made very clear in no uncertain terms, right here and right now. And I have no doubt as to who is in charge.
We all know it's Congress' job to make sure our Sovereignty is protected and nourished. We also know that we can't count on other people we don't know personally to get it right. They might, but....
So, two duties have devolved to us.
- Tell our Congress that we demand they fulfill their oaths and vigorously defend the Constitution (And why not publicly reaffirm their oath on the Capitol steps together one fine day? Even invite the Republicans to participate in the oath-taking.)
- Tell everyone we know, everyone we can reach, what we have told Congress, and if needed, why. And then exhort them to do the same

There's your bare minimum. It can get fuller, and more complex but there's everything that matters in a nutshell.
I can't help thinking: "What one thing would instantly improve America's national security by leaps and bounds?" and "If a Commander puts his military in a place where they are surrounded by enemies and undersupplied, and has blundered into a 5-front, 6-, or more-front war, why is it in the nation's interest to keep him as Commander?" I remember the dictum of our fellow-citizen Conservatives: "The Constitution was not meant as a suicide pact."
Maybe I'll add that stuff in for my Congressionals. As long as I sound sane, adult, and get to the point, I think I'll be heard. What about you?
Here, where I feel okay to rant, I just want to add:
No, Mr Bush, you are not our Sovereign, nor our Protector. You are our servant. By every possible measure; obeying the Constitution; acting for the well-being of the people and the nation at home and abroad; the status of our national defense, the constant seeking of new enemies after being stymied by old ones... By every measure you are a failure.
We, the People, hold you in flagrant Contempt of Americans. Add Contempt of Congress to it, and you will see yourself swept out of American political life like no one since King George III.
