The day is here. Almost. Can you feel the excitement?
The meetup is tomorrow at my place. Email me (fabooj [at] mail [dot] com) to get directions.
I'm ready for this, the first BBQ of the year at my new house. And even though the hole is still in my wall, you'll be able to say you saw it when. You'll also be pleased to know that other beautification projects I've done for you guys:
- My bathroom is painted and it's regal!
- I got plants in my back yard and most of them are in the ground.
- Patio furniture.
- I finally have patio furniture.
- We have some patio furniture and it has cushions!
- I also have a pool. It's not a big pool and you can't actually swim in it, but if you wanna foot dunk, we could probably hook you up.
- Did I mention the patio furniture? There's an umbrella involved. Seriously.
Here are the details
When will this extraordinary shindig take place? 2pm, Sunday March 25th
What magical land will I be traveling to? I live in El Sereno, a small slice of LA, squashed between Lincoln Heights, Alhambra and Montecito Heights. It's about 10 min. north of the 10 Fwy.
I could give you some drive times, but I tend to do about 80 - 95mph and therefore have an under-inflated sense of how long it takes to get from one place to another. I can tell you that from our old place off Melrose & Fairfax to our new place took 20 - 30 min. with most of the headache going to the circle of hell between the Melrose onramp and the 110 interchange.
We'll get some various meat to put on the grills. Naturally, there'll be water, sodas and juices for those who abstain and anyone who may be pregnant and/or underage. Feel free to bring a beverage of your choice. We'll have tons of snackies and kid-friendly foods.
Speaking of my spawn, can I bring them?: For some reason, I feel like I'm the only one in LA with little kids, babies really, but feel free to bring yours. Keep in mind, my oldest is 3, so the toys pretty much top out at that age, but I do have an Xbox and a PS2.
Can I bring a friend in case you guys are exceedingly boring in real life?: Bring whoever you want, as long as they don't steal my shit and don't have a crappy attitude, I'm okay with it.
So, how do you get to your pad?: Email me at my profile, but please put SoCal meetup in the subject line, so I don't dump it as spam. Please include your screen name too, so I can get little jaunty name tags.
Hope to see you tomorrow!
