Well, you know how the phrase ends.
According to a new AP story, Mr. Giuliani apparently is rather unhappy that his private life - specifically his strained relationship with his son - is becoming fodder for the MSM. He wants the media to leave this part of his life alone, so that he can, you know, become a better dad.
Well, here is some simple yet sage advice for Mr. Giuliani on how to deal with this unpleasant situation:
Get out of the freakin' Presidential race!!
If you want to become the top leader of this country, then you better be prepared for almost every last drop of privacy in your life to evaporate. I am not advocating the paparazi tactics of ripping apart the lives of public figures - which, of course, you are, and will be even more so as you continue a Presidential bid. I am simply stating what the current media situation is, just like, say, a weatherman would do with the weather. And since the Anna Nicole Smith stories are running out of steam, all these reporters and photographers and investigators have to look somewhere else now.
And if you think you have some special power to tell the media what aspects of your life that they can or cannot report, well, let me give you a clue: that's about the same as inviting them to do the things you don't want them to. It's like whistling and pointing out a carcass to a flock of hungry vultures. You've essentially just placed a tabloid bounty on any "exclusive" photos with you and your son.
Oh, and about all those 24-hour cable news networks? They really only have enough news each day to fill about 1 hour, so they have to talk about something. And guess what? You've just made yourself a prime target of all sorts of stories, which now includes anything to do with your son, like how much time you did or didn't spend teaching how to throw a curve ball when he was in Little League.
So, do us all a favor and either 1) drop out of the race now, and shut up about it, or 2) stay in the race, and shut up about it. I don't care, either way (well, okay, I confess - I'd prefer you dropping out).
Thank you.
Bonus question: if a Democrat had expressed this same sentiment, what choice "description" would Coulter use for him?
