Like a few others here, I subcribe to GOPUSA for laffs and intel and was glad to see yesterdays diary go up on Kincaid's "shock" at Ann Coulter's, uh, presentation and persona.
Today, the tide is flowing back in and bringing all kinds of down-home, values-voter authenticity with it. GOPUSA Founder Bobby Eberle is aghast at his readership and fills us in--a few snips--after the jump.

The feedback received from GOPUSA readers was significantly against Cliff Kincaid’s assessment of Ann Coulter and her statements. The feedback took several forms which I would like to address here. First, there are those who said something similar to "Back off!!!! Ann Coulter is RIGHT ON!!!" In this context, I have no idea what that statement means. Ann Coulter is right on??? Does this mean that John Edwards really is a "faggot?" What was she "right on" about. Clearly, there is no evidence to suggest that Edwards is a homosexual, so in this case, it seems that some readers will just blindly follow Coulter no matter what she says.
Next, there was a group who congratulated Ann Coulter for having "guts" to "tell it like it is." Part of this goes back to the previous note. Tell what like it is? That just doesn’t make sense. In addition, it doesn’t take any particular amount of bravery, courage, or guts for a conservative columnist or talk show host to blast left wing policies and antics...
if a worm turns, does that mean the whole can will? Dunno, but on ecan hope, eh? Seems Bobby is in a mood to unburden himself...
What is really disappointing is that this is just one more example of the greater problem of a loss of civility in our debate and discussion. I see it all the time from the feedback I get from seemingly intelligent readers. As an example, GOPUSA recently incorporated a small code that readers have to enter in order to send us feedback. This was done because spammers can not only send us a bunch of junk, they can also use our feedback form to send junk to others. Incorporating the code greatly reduces the chances for spammers to use our code. However, from time to time, the code doesn’t work properly on some people’s computers. Rather than asking, "What is wrong with this page?", we’ll get e-mails saying, "I typed in this long response, and now your )#$*()&*) page won’t accept the code. What’s wrong with you )(#()#? You don’t want to hear from a TRUE conservative. You are worse than those #&*(&@# liberals!!!"
There is no way this column is going to not become a miniseries of friendly fire. Eberle tosses in the illogical and ad homina (?) necessities about us nasty librals having no standards of discourse etc and so on, but it seems the boy is genuinely confused that his flock is logic-free and cannibalistic and, well, acting for all intents like those imagined but elusive "Extremist" leftys. Pack a lunch, it's a long freaky ride.
