I would like to express my appreciation to Patrick Fitzegerald and his team for the long hours and hard work that they spent on this case. Even had the verdict come out differently, I would still be thankful that there are people in public service (and it is a service when you compare what these people could likely be making in the private sector versus the public). You and your team conducted yourself in an exemplary manner throughout this and have managed to restore my very shaken belief in justice at least somewhat. I'm doubly thankful that your work was not in vain and hopefully someday the whole sorid mess will be exposed to the full light of day.
I would also like to thank Judge Walton and his staff and the jury for the long hours and hard work they spent, most notably his law clerk and the pro bono time he spent on the memorandum.
Thank you all, you have done a great service to your country, people like you all are the true patriots in this country.
I cried when I heard the veredict, out of relief not because I'm joyful at other's misfortune, but that a lie was told, lives were ruined and our country's safety was compromised, in ways we will likely never know and that justice perhaps finally is done.
Also I would like to thank the Firedog Lakers that blogged this and kept me informed through all this even when my head was about to explode with the legal things that I didn't understand. Their analysis and great job blogging are greatly appreciated by me.
I don't know what will happen next, will there be a pardon or what, but thank you all, thank you, it's a beautiful day outside.
