Spring is always a mixed bag in my mind. Yes, the days are getting longer. I’ve had the opportunity to run outside twice this week! Until recently, I didn’t have time when the sun was up, and given our 61 straight days of snow cover....well, it’s no wonder I have a little winter weight to shed.
The runoff is about to begin. That means floods. That especially means no skiing! While there is still 5 feet of snow in places at Winter Park, it will be gone here in a few weeks.
Signs of Spring....and TOP COMMENTS below!
My favorite signs of spring:
- birds chirping.
- long days.
- Spring Break!
- planning summer trips.
- bits of green peaking up through the ground.
- crisp mornings.
My least favorite sign of Spring:
- the kids at school are going nuts....between the change of seasons and the hormones....YIKES!!!
I hope you are having a happy time as Spring descends upon us. I’m glad that Persephone is coming home!!!

Shiborg has find an interesting come back to Conservatives' defense of Libby. Editor’s note: this once came in after the diary last night, and I’m including even if it is yesterday’s comment.

The question of what to do with Blue Dogs in conservative districts is a vexed one. DualAg gives his perspective from Chet Edwards's Texas district and starts off a nice thread.

From Carolita:
sherlyle sums up shrub's birthday gift to Osama beautifully and Autarkh's astute reply sparks a very insightful exchange between the two in Cenk Uygur's diary Osama Turns 50 -- Bush Gives Him a Present.
And, in that same diary, Dump Terry McAuliffe reminds us that now we have a sure-fire way to locate Osama. Is it snark if it is true?
A little snark from namnick shows Red Wind the up side of being on the no-fly list in Red Wind's A practice impeachment.

From sardonyx:
Amid the celebration on the midday open thread that Ann Coulter has been fired from the Dekalb (Illinois) Daily Chronicle, Jensequitur points out that replacing her with Michelle Malkin isn't exactly an improvement, and quotes a truly excellent comment from the paper's website on the relative equivalence of the two conservative women. The full article/editorial announcing the change is here, courtesy of MikeBaseball's post upthread.
Trix posts on the dire consequences stemming from the cancellation of the Fox News debate in Nevada.
ablington keeps them on the floor with this one-line response to brownsox's comment that the irony gods are rolling on the floor after Newt's revelations of gasp past infidelities in monthly diarist clonecone's opus from last night, Gingrich Says Goodbye to '08 Hopes.
True Confession: I didn’t get to any mining today. I’m shot. I didn’t get home until 2 am Monday morning from a weekend out of town, so my week started on three hours of sleep. There were a few other short nights in there and a full schedule. So, if doing no mining makes me the worst Top Commenteer ever, well, just let me know....
