In other news tonight if we can scoot around all the Don Imus and Anna Nicloe stories we see that Edwards is polling very well in southwest Missouri also. I know there have been some questions on Edwards support in Missouri and if this is any indication...
From the Turner Report Blog (KY3 that is mentioned as his source is a local television channel in Springfield area)
Unofficial poll has Edwards tops among southwest Missouri Democrats
KY3's political blog reports more support for John Edwards than for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama among southwest Missouri Democrats:
In speaking to many party officials as well as loyal Democratic donors, the sense is that the race for the 2008 nomination is wide-open and volatile. Citing substance and electability, area Democrats most often picked Edwards as the candidate they would like to see at the top of the ticket in Missouri.
Edwards and Hillary Clinton were the only two candidates with visible campaign tables set up at the Clarion Hotel over the weekend. While Clinton clearly has support among a fair number of area Democrats, that support seems to be tepid as questions of her electability remain a concern. In other instances, she's a second choice -- to Edwards.

We know Edwards has said many times that he was wrong to authorize the war. TomP included parts of this article in his news roundup last night but we both felt it would be a good idea to talk about this particular part tonight. Edwards deeply regrets his decision now and is doing all can to try to put an end to our occupation in Iraq. Here is a little background on how he came to that decision from our dear Elizabeth Edwards.
The couple, who met at University of North Carolina's law school, share a similar political philosophy, yet they do not always agree. That includes the Senate vote to authorize war with Iraq that John Edwards has said was the most important of his career.
She was opposed from the beginning. She did not feel there was provocation for war and she did not trust President Bush with the authority. But John Edwards decided to vote the opposite way and she did not try to change his mind.
As time passed, John Edwards began to believe he made the wrong decision.
"We talked about it a lot," Elizabeth Edwards said, "and he was saying to me that it was so hard to come to that conclusion because young men and women lost their lives. ... Then he decided, `Let's face it, I was wrong and I'm going to have to say it, even though I know what it means.'"
In longhand, he wrote out an explanation for his vote that began: "I was wrong." He submitted the draft to his aides. They advised him to cut those first three words.
"I talked to Elizabeth about it and I said, `I really feel this is what I need to say,'" he said. "And she said, `Of course that's what you need to say if that's what you feel.' "

On moral issues, let's take a look at a snip from an interesting op-ed piece from Mark Shields
You don't get the garden variety Democratic coddling of the politically powerful middle class from the former North Carolina senator. His "moral issues," instead of same-sex marriage or school prayer, are "the 47 million people who don't have health care coverage," "the 37 million people who face every day trying to take care of themselves and their family, living in poverty," as well as "the half the planet who live on $2 a day." He has set the goal of ending poverty in 30 years, and he spells out a program to do so

Finishing up tonight I would like to include a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King's I Have a Dream speech. All the bruhaha surrounding the Don Imus story, agree or disagree, I think this says it best and I think that John Edwards will be the leader that WILL inspire all of us to look for the good in everyone and to not judge someone according to their skin color but by the content of their character.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today.
