Today marks the political death of Senator John Sununu. Again, he voted against life-saving embryonic stem-cell research. Again, the bill passed but does not have the votes to override an inevitable Bush veto. For Christ's sake, I didn't even care about the political ramifications of Sununu's vote today...I just wanted him to do the right damned thing. But he couldn't even do that. And now, he's gonna pay.
62% of New Hampshire Republicans support stem-cell research. He's going down hard.
The final vote was 63-34 with 3 not voting. All three that did not vote were Democrats who will support the bill, but even still, that brings the total to 66, one vote shy of the necessary 67. To quote the O-man, here are your worst persons in the world:
