Because I am a Kossack but especially because I am one from another country, I would like to send my love, sorrow and whatever comfort I can to those families that have so tragically lost their young people and friends in the shooting at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.
I have special thoughts for those who are alongside young people who are right now in hospital as they are being treated for injuries, some of which may still prove fatal.
I hope that those who feel able to pray for these families do so and those who feel unable to pray are able to join me in a quiet silence for a few moments.

The remainder of this diary I would like to leave to those who consider it inappropriate at this time to fully comment, analyse or dissect these tragic events until fuller information becomes known.
We are, by definition and by nature, a talkative bunch on here, but I feel that there may be many like me who feel the most appropriate response at this time is a simple mark of respect through a brief comment of shared humanity . A shared humanity that allows us to encompass all those not just in Blacksburg but throughout the world who are grieving at this moment for loved ones.
