I crossposted this blog entry from bluemassgroup.com because the issue at hand is very relevant and is one of the most important social legislative issues currently being debated in the country. As of today, the New Hampshire govenor John Lynch will pass the civil unions bill and it's equally important that Massachusetts continue to allow gay marriage in thier state. Down below are links of interest regarding the Massachusetts gay-marriage legal battle.
(I would like to add that the Oregon legislative house just passed a bill today to give gay-couples the same benefits hetreosexual couples recieve in that state.)

MassEquality is launching My.MassEquality.Org, a new online organizing website to help supporters of equality organize their friends and family as we all work together to fight the discriminatory anti-gay ballot amendment.
We'd like to invite all BMG supporters of marriage equality to check out our new website, create a personal page, and invite your friends and family to join the fight to protect marriage equality.
The amendment, which passed the Legislature in January with 62 votes, now faces a second round of consideration. Supporters of equality currently need to gain eight more votes to win. The amendment requires only 50 legislative votes to be placed on the November 2008 ballot.
We are grateful for the many supporters who have already taken a stand for equality. But if we are going to keep this discriminatory amendment off the ballot, we need many more people across the state to get involved - and the best person to get your friends and family involved is you! That's why we need your help to make sure every supporter across the state talks to their legislators before the next vote.
Here are some of the many things you can do with My.MassEquality.Org:
1)Create your own personal homepage about why marriage equality matters to you
2)Track your progress in organizing your friends and family and getting them to take action
3)Win prizes by motivating your friends and family to contact their legislators
4)Use easy tools to contact your legislators, write a letter to your local paper, donate, or sign up to volunteer
5)Find events in your area or create your own pages to invite family and friends to your equality activities
6)Post messages on your own Equality Journal
There are 57 legislators who have said in the past that they would vote against marriage equality - we need to change the minds of at least 8 of them before the next Constitutional Convention. We can do it, but we need your help.
We hope you'll come sign up at My.MassEquality.Org today!
I added a poll to see what kossacks think of the gay-marriage issue in the United States.
