It takes a lot to make hundreds of millions of people want to fire someone, but it does happen.
Mr. Rove, it appears that your allegiances in public service are a bit skewed. You believe that you do not work for US or THE US (you know, we are the US in THE UNITED STATES). You, sir, are sadly mistaken since you, in fact, work for US and THE US, at least to the extent that you accept public money and benefits. Since you appear to have decided that you actually work for someone else, then I suggest that you request, most humbly, that whoever that someone else is pay all of your salary and all of your benefits. Since in your mind you work for neither US, nor THE US, there is absolutely no reason for US, or THE US, to pay you any salary or provide you with any benefits. You, sir, should just be removed – or remove yourself - from the public trough, which I would image should suit you just fine given your disdain for the public and their government.
The President is a public employee. If we decide to, we can fire him on merit. It takes a lot to make hundreds of millions of people want to fire someone, but it does happen. It takes less for US to fire you. Keep up your current level of service and you could find yourself in a very tender situation. What you have been feeling lately is not really pressure, it is merely a job evaluation. Let US make it clear to you: you are a minion of a federal employee that serves at the pleasure of the public. And in your regard, if enough of US think the same thought... well, let US just say that toast is sometimes delicious when spread with the sweetest of revenge jams.
