Yes,his debate with John McCain was a thing of beauty, and I appreciate how much he understands the importance of remaining cordial and respectfull despite how contentious it had become. But he could have been much more forceful and been like, "Dude, how come you personally haven't shown Bush disdain for the way he tries to paint the rest of us as unpatriotic? You're an enabler and really that makes you no better than him. Shame on you." And, as of a couple of days ago, he could have even said, "Senator McCain, George Fucking McGovern said today that he expects that Bush and Cheney will have to resign. And I've got a long list in front of me of air-tight impeachable offenses that make it very clear why someone of his stature would make such a bold statement. So can you please tell us why you aren't joining people like him and myself and my audience in calling for Bush/Cheney to resign? And if not, on behalf of my child I would very much appreciate it if you would allow me 15 minutes in private to go over this list I have."

George Carlin once wrote that "People should not get credit for having qualities they're supposed to have. Like honesty. What's the big deal anyway? You're supposed to be honest." So why is it a big deal when we finally see a goober like McCain get slapped with truthiness? Just because Stewart's performance was laudable, doesn't mean that it did justice to what was really called for.
Frankly, McGovern is a wuss too. Why didn't he say that he DEMANDS that they resign? After all, the burden of proof of why they SHOULDN'T resign is on them. Not to mention all of the smoking guns that they stole Ohio.
Speaker Pelosi really needs to start seriously thinking about who she should pick for her VP. If I had my druthers it would be Wes Clark. And in light of how many people here who have said he's not their first choice, but would certainly see him as the obvious choice for VP, why should we even have to argue about it? It's not like he's the author of Averting the Next Gulf War, or the man behind stopiranwar.com, or the man who practically singlehandedly put the Democratic Congress over the top in 06, nor is Wes Clark the Democrat who would most appease the raving mad Right. I mean, it's not like he has any credentials with our allies in the Europe or the Middle East.
UPDATE: Half of the point is that I can't say that to McCain myself cuz I don't have a show. Any citizen who IS in a position to put Bush's enablers on the spot have a duty to do so. Christ, if soldiers are dying over there, why is it too much to make "demands" on Jon Stewart? You'd think he'd be doing so of his own volition merely for the sake of saving his son from a doomed future.
P.S. How come guys like Jimmy Carter and John McCain haven't taken Stewart and gang aside to tell them to stop using the word "*ussy" since it's very bad manners?
