Whoops!
It appears as if plucky Australian CNN embed Michael Ware, less than 24 hours returned from Diyala province in Iraq, let his tongue slip in an interview with Anderson Cooper this afternoon. Could this be the secretive "Plan B" to which former Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) once referred?
Watch the video for yourself -- but, if you're running short on time, here's a summary: Ware suggests that American military commanders, aware of the fact that the Maliki government has no support or traction among Iraqis, are ultimately looking to install a "pseudo-democracy" in Iraq -- led by a military dictator, citing General Pervez Musharraf and Pakistan as an analog in the region.
So, to recap: we went to Iraq five years ago to depose a dictator and install a democracy, and we may very well get out by dissolving the democracy and installing a dictator.
Hey, Cheney! While we're at it -- and since you're convinced that the Democrats are colluding with terrorists anyway -- why haven't you guys just installed a dictator already?
Oh, wait. Right... never mind.
