Bill Moyers marked his return to PBS on Wednesday night with his well-received (by most of us, anyway) special edition of Bill Moyers Journal, Buying the war. But his regular Friday night show will likely be of interest to many, also, so I wanted to shoot out a heads-up.
So I thought I'd pass along some information from their newsletter:

"Washington is the opposite of Olympic diving. In that, in Olympic diving, you take the high score and the low score and you throw it out as the extremes. In Washington, those are the two people you listen to." -- Jon Stewart
This week on Bill Moyers Journal (local listings)
• Jon Stewart - What's so funny about the media's cozy relationship with Washington today? The host of the The Daily Show with Jon Stewart talks to Bill Moyers. Watch a clip on the Moyers Blog.
• Josh Marshall - The popular political blogger from talkingpointsmemo.com gives the Journal his perspective on the role of politics in the recent firings of federal prosecutors.
• Bill Moyers remembers journalist David Halberstam.
Set those tivos now while you're thinking about it. And for those of you who can't even get that together (like me), I note an opportunity to subscribe to podcasts on the Bill Moyers Journal home page
Late addition: I ought to pass on that This American Life is re-broadcasting their Peabody-award winning story "Habeas Schmabeas" this weekend on public radio. I listened to these interviews of released detainees from Guantanmo Bay some months ago, and found them to make for some of the most compelling radio journalism I have ever heard. Broadcast information, audiostreams, and downloadable mp3 podcasts are available through the web site, but the audio material is available for only limited times. Highly recommended.
