"Fire can't melt steel" has been one of the battle cries of the 911 conspiracy crowd for five years. Now that anyone with eyes has seen what happens when a tanker truck tips over and burns on a highway overpass can we put this one to bed?
I'm no scientist but using my basic powers of observation I noticed a concrete and steel structure melt under what I'm sure were some hot flames. They were however, just regular old flames from a common source. I presume it was a gasoline truck? The force pushing down on the bridge was only that of gravity. So what about a fire with jet fuel at it's source? Is it fair to say that would burn even hotter? And what about the thousands of pounds of PSI on all the steel in the WTC? Would that have any effect on it's ability to withstand heat? Um... I'd have to say yes. Of course the last time I studied anything scientific was high school physics class.
