I wonder where the Al-Maliki goverment came up with this idea:
Article found on CNN website.
Iraq's prime minister has created an entity within his government that U.S. and Iraqi military officials say is being used as a smokescreen to carry out an extreme Shiite agenda that is worsening the country's sectarian divide.
The "Office of the Commander in Chief" has the power to overrule other government ministries, according to U.S. military and intelligence sources.
Those sources say the 24-member office is abusing its power, increasingly overriding decisions made by the Iraqi Ministries of Defense and Interior and potentially undermining the entire U.S. effort in Iraq.
I guess if they keep this up they will truly be on their way to an American style democracy. One in which the advice of trusted, qualified individuals is thrown by the wayside in favor of boot licking sycophants who simply want to push an agenda of intolerance, hatred, and violence.
He said that a number of Iraqi commanders, including good commanders, had been relieved of duty because they had reached retirement age and that this had been voted on by the Council of Ministers. The decision to remove them was to create positions for younger commanders and potentially for some ex-Baathist commanders that the Iraqi government was trying to bring into the Iraqi Security Forces, he said.
In the above paragraph, replace Iraqi commanders with United States Attorneys and it reads the same as any article about Gonzo-gate.
