Hey All!
So, here it is, Tuesday evening, and it's time to get together and do some DIDS!
What are the DIDS? DIDS stands for "Damn, I Did Something!" It's a weekly cyber-gathering to celebrate the cool things we've accomplished--miniscule or herculean! It's all a possible DIDS!
More below the break.
My DIDS for the week?
Well, I'm in the early stages of writing a book with a great friend of mine. (It's about teaching, learning, writing, thinking, etc.--all from the perspective of working teachers) The writing of the book has happened in bursts, and I've been pretty blocked for a few months. (In my defense, teaching full time and taking care of small Kendrick-pods eats up a lot of my time). So, after attending a conference hosted by Katie Wood Ray, a researcher who writes about the teaching of writing, I felt my writing-fire get rekindled, and over the weekend I FINALLY made some progress toward finishing my introductory chapter. Finishing this chapter will be clearing a big hurdle for me and after the work I did this weekend, I finally feel like the end of the chapter is in sight. So, that's my DIDS!
Now, what hurdles have you cleared? What walls have you knocked down? What forward movement have you made?
What are your DIDS?
