On the treadmill! There was a report a few weeks ago that Al Gore has hit the treadmill because his spokesman said "He wants to keep his health in mind and in no way does in mean anything else".
Yeah right.
Well today, based on the NY Times story Daily Kos broke last night that Gore is moving closer to a Presidential run in '08.
I too have started to work out again.
I have come a long way in my choice for President in 2008. In 2004, I first supported John Edwards, then Howard Dean, then finally Wesley Clark as I worked hard trying to draft the great General.
In 2008, I was hopeful that General Clark would enter the race for the White House again. I had been talking to him everytime I saw him about how I thought he should be President.
In my perfect world, Clark would have won the nomination in 2004 and would be our President today. And perhaps we wouldn't be in the mess we are in.
However, Kerry was the nominee and we all know the end of that story.
So I have waited for Clark, and if he does run (which I think he won't) out of loyalty to my General I will support him. After giving up hoping on Clark I found my way into the Obama camp.
However, I have not been as impressed with Obama or his campaign as time has went on. Maybe I fell out of the Obamania as some have suggested or maybe I just think in a time in history we are in now.
We need more than just fancy speeches and intelligence to get us out of this mess we are in now. And I am not just talking about Iraq.
Don't get me wrong, I think Obama would be a great President he's even my hopeful choice behind Clark for Vice President. But we need a commander in chief who's got experience, proven leadership, and everything else.
That person is Al Gore.
So he's the question I pose to this community, do you think based on yesterday's NY Times article that Al Gore is running? Do you think that Wesley Clark is running?
Both? Neither?
If I were a betting man, I'd say Gore is running.
And vote honestly, don't vote because you don't want a person to run, vote based on what your gut says to you. I vote for Al Gore.
