Many of us have a worrying doubt about the honesty of the last couple of elections. Who doesn't wonder how this world would look if it was Al up there rather than Junior. For sure there would be a lot less dead and injured people.
But don't get comfortable that the next election will fix all this. Be more scared that the next election will once again be 'fixed'. If we don't pay attention now, our democracy might disappear without even a whimper and our right to have our votes counted accurately, or even counted at all, is on the verge of quietly being taken away from us.
Our own San Diego Board of Supervisors, in spite of being educated by huge amounts of documentation and a Princeton study on the Diebold voting machines, has opted to spend $31 million of tax payers money on these machines. These machines are also much more costly than alternate means. We will just have to TRUST that the person announced as the winner of an election is the person who really did get the most votes. I don't find much comfort in that thought!
Instead of investigating these points, the San Diego Board of Supervisors has repeatedly opted to hire suspect supporters of their decision, the latest being Deborah Seiler, a former Diebold and Sequoia sales representative, as the new Registrar of Voters. Check out former hires too: Mischelle Townsend, Interim Registrar, who left Riverside amidst clouds of election fraud; Michael Vu, who resigned from Cuyahoga County, Ohio after fraud was discovered in their elections. These elections were under Vu's supervision. Why would they then be hired here? Walt Ekard and Michael Haas were the decision makers on spending the tax payers money and also the hiring of these folks. But everything was approved by our Board of Supervisors - who we elect.
This is outrageous and needs to be stopped before San Diego County ends up the new Florida of 2008. I urge every patriotic American who believes in counting every vote to flood the board of Supervisors with their outrage.
An investigation needs to be made and I would suggest starting by checking on the bank accounts of all those concerned, starting with our own Board of Supervisors.
