For proving Pat Buchanan right.
I'm not a huge fan of Scarborough Country. Usually, I catch it because it's on right after Countdown and I'll watch if it looks like the jibber jabber might be interesting. Rarely, it is.
But if you tune in on any sort of regular basis, you've undoubtedly seen Pat Buchanan on the panel at the top of the hour. Over the past year or so, I've been appalled to find myself in agreement with Buchanan more times than I care to admit.
In the past few weeks, as our employees in Congress have tried to cobble together a supplemental spending bill for the Occupation of Iraq, Buchanan has said time and again that the Dems would cave, blink, etc. and the petulant Prince Pinhead would get his way.
Unfortunately, I've been gullible enough to mutter back to my TV screen, "Sorry, Pat, old boy, you gots it wrong this time." Pat proved me wrong and and Democrats proved him right.
I don't have any links to video or transcripts. He's said it so many times that I'm sure several instances could be researchified with a few quick keystrokes on the Google. I'm just writing to say I'm sad and disappointed that those we have placed so much trust in and given so much time and money to have proven Pat Buchanan correct...and I'm glad I didn't have any money on it.
