This just popped up on the Public Citizen Watchdog Blog. An anonymous Republican Senator has placed a hold on the Open Government Act, a bipartisan measure to improve the Freedom of Information Act and provide accountability for FOIA requests. Think Progress has additional links including this one to Leahy's response.
Logic dictates that it would be a Republican Senator placing a secret hold on an act to improve openness and accountability in government. If you are unfortunate enough to have a Republican Senator representing you in Congress, its time (once again) to contact your Senator and find out who is placing the hold on this act.
This move is (yet another) reprehensible act by unethical Republicans. The identity of this Senator must be revealed so that pressure can be brought to bear to release the hold or explain the action in public.
No jump.
