What is it they say about "clear and imminent danger"? Meteor Blades reminds us that Bush can attack Iran or any other nation on the planet any time he likes and there's not a damn thing anyone can do to stop him.
I'm disgusted. Not by the Dems. The leadership has long disgusted me. Indeed, only Dems could make George Bush look like a man of steely resolution. But we've all been through that.
The worst Dem candidate in 2008 is infinitely better qualified than George Bush to be President, but hopefully Dem's are going to raise the bar higher than "better than Dubya" when choosing a leader.
I'm disgusted with Dems for failing to protect America from the "clear and imminent danger" of George W. Bush, Richard Cheney and Alberto Gonzales.
Grab a bucket and join me below the fold: be prepared to channel your outrage.
Let's not mince words. The silence from some very prominent individuals on this site is deafening.
Impeachment Porn? Thankfully that little shit-ball hasn't been tossed around much lately despite the truly dreadful use of the word "traitor" recently to describe Dem leaders who may well have betrayed the largely un-qualified support and cash they received around here.
The once dismissive anti-impeachment folks have largely holstered their weapons and deserve a good deal of credit for stepping aside as the impeachment hordes pound away at the docility of leading Dems.
I wonder, however, just what it will take for the leading FPers, or should I say, the leading FPer, himself, to actually stand up and say:
Frack it: we can't take any more chances with the safety of Americans. These pricks have got to go now!
We all want the Republicans to go. Certainly this site has earned its way into the history books and rightly so as the leading bastion of anti-dork activists. As a professional student of culture and politics I doubt I'm alone in stating there's nothing delusional about claiming that without this site, or something very much like it, America would be in much worse shape.
But we've arrived at a point where far too many Dems seem quite willing to let Bush have his little escalation, to kind of coast through through the end of Bush' mis-rule, while trying to minimize the damage. But what happens if Dick and George decide they'd prefer to go out with a bang, rather than a whimper? That's if they decide to go. theyrereal raises the remote, but very ugly possibility that the two arch-criminals might decide to stay on a little longer. So much for the bad-guys shooting up the town and then leaving. Not likely to happen, you say? Bush and Cheney aren't likely to try to take total control. And we're supposed to feel relieved?
To argue that George W. Bush deserves to removed from office is not just an indictment of Bush, it's an indictment of all of us.
Bush shouldn't be removed from office. Bush should never have been permitted to take office. He should have been tried and convicted for failing to protect America on 9/11.
Bush should have been tried and convicted for failing completely to catch the man who still brags of bringing down the towers and is without fucking doubt itching to commit an even more heinous act of terror upon Americans in the future.
Bush should have been tried and convicted of allowing the worst strategic disaster in US history to take place on his watch, of listening to the stupidist fucking guy on the face of the earth, of allowing racist Reservists to run amock in Abu Ghuraib and for organizing and sanctioning far worse crimes in secret and not so secret CIA and US Military prisons.
And yet we have seemingly responsible folks here musing: should we impeach?, like we're plucking petals off some forget-me-not: impeach, ride it out, impeach, ride it out. I mean it's fucking mind-boggling.
So, here's my question: what will it take to see the IMPEACH NOW!! headline screaming across the top of the site every day until the evil SOB is dragged from office and hauled before the people. Another Katrina? An attack on Iran? A few more botched wars? Subverting the Constitution?
