one must assume that the nsa, with its physical presence at at&t/(other?) network operation centers, could easily kill us-based access to the internet in a number of ways.
in times of great potential civil strife, one wonders what they might be capable of.
without net access, we're dead. we organize almost exclusively through the net. many of us, if forced to choose, would forego that first cup of coffee, and instead load dkos/c&l/thinkprogress/froomkin.
they have secure private networks for their blackberries, and they don't care if the drudge report is offline.
we need to develop reliable, alternate methods of communication, perhaps as simple as phone trees, or networks of community public access tv stations, or maybe we better get some ham radio geeks to chime in.
we need overseas co-location of site content, and message boards.
if/when accused, they'll just pass it off as cyber-terrorism from abroad.
