FROM DENIAL TO DISSENT IN 5 EASY STEPS:
1. Remind yourself that it's not about Democrats or Republicans, liberals or conservatives. Those are "black and white world" terms that serve to destroy our unity as human beings. This is about the truth. Jack Nicholson's famous monologue was wrong: You CAN handle the truth! This is about trust in our democratic process, and the people who send our kids and sisters and brothers and parents and extended families to die horrible deaths and to kill innocent people. Much as I hated Kerry when he conceded, this isn't about him anymore. In a sense, we have to forget about him for a moment. He is too entrenched in a corrupted system. Perhaps his late arrival in the Ohio recount effort means something. We'll see. For now, we have to detach ourselves from the TV umbilical cord, which re-inforces the Black vs. White, Bush vs. Kerry, Spy vs. Spy worldview. We are, as a nation, walking down a one-way street to fasciscm, unless we make it otherwise. If you disagree, please accept my challenge to read the rest of what I'm saying. It can't hurt.
2. Remind yourself that exit polls are still seen worldwide as a standard election fraud gauge. Look at the Ukraine right now:
Exit Poll Shows Yushchenko in Lead
Kiev was calm but on edge Sunday as Ukrainians voted for a new president, with many expressing fears that the mood could turn violent as allegations of election violations grew.
Opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko led Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych by 45 percent to 37 percent in an exit poll conducted by a consortium of nongovernmental and polling groups released after polls closed 8 p.m. Sunday.
The outcome of a bitter election in Ukraine on Sunday was anything but clear Monday, with exit polls showing the pro-Western challenger as the winner, but official results indicating otherwise.
If the media doubts that our exit polls are anywhere near as good as those in the Ukraine, then they have a double standard to account for when they report on the reasons for Bush's victory, which are always based on exit polls. Leading up to election 2004, many Kossacks agreed that exit polls would be the only way to detect fraud in a paperless electronic system. Are we abandoning that common sense now?
3. Memorize, if you haven't already, and save and spread this graphic (thumbnail is clickable for larger image):
4. Explain to me, coherently, how denying the reality of serious fraud that may be undetectable by other means helps anyone. Remember, I have no Dem. allegiance. "For the good of the party..." is worthless rhetoric to me.
5. Of course, in the end, we need to address our denial that existed before the 2004 election, because we did really lose. We lost when Bush stole the presidency in 2000. We let him get away with it. We lost when his lies to go to war went unpunished. We lost at every deception his administration has orchestrated, and it all prepared us to lose on November 2nd. This is all a matter of public record. He should have been impeached years ago. Yes, we're all a bunch of losers: understand that. Even if you don't believe in fraud, then that means this madman murderer was actually elected to a 2nd term. What are you going to do about that now- <soapbox>I SAY IT IS TIME TO FIGHT BACK, IN THE STREETS, AND EXPRESS THE POWER OF DISSENT. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOSE? REMEMBER 2/15? DO NOT BE A NATION OF ENABLERS. SET A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR YOUR CHILDREN.</soapbox> Thank you. Recommend if you agree.
