Fred Thompson announced this week that to promote his run at the presidency he is giving up his day job playing a prosecutor on the TV series "Law & Order." What hasn’t been publicized is that Thompson has been behind the scenes with Fox Network to begin production of a new series "AEI: Washington".
Fox when contacted for comment responded "Yes it’s true. We had a treatment for a production that would highlight the mission of the American Enterprise Institute. Fred Thompson, a fellow at AEI an organization that has been considered the think tank par excellence for promoting the neo-con agenda, was a natural".
More below the fold ...
The unnamed source went on to explain that the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) was a great source for talent ... "We all know and support their cause but they have such a wealth of talent that is currently looking for ... ahh ... visibility". While the source wouldn’t name, names; it is well known that Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney are Fellows or are significant sponsors of the enterprise as well as the Project for the New American Century (PNAC).
The unnamed source briefly discussed the branding of the show, "Yes AEI: Washington is a play on the currently popular CSI: Miami". The source went on to compare criminal forensics to political deniability. "Yes with the Patriot Act and a compliant mainstream media" the AEI is able to pull off the perfect crime ... ahem ... I mean democratic vision of a people that yearn to be free".
Apparently, the premier show will be of our intrepid neocon evangelist (Thompson) and his A-team of Wolfie and Rummy out to free Scooter from a lock up somewhere in Kansas. The treatment for this show was none other than Thompson who wrote a small piece for AEI that bemoaned the conviction of Scooter.
There were no other details available. Fred Thompson is to make further details available July 4th (wouldn’t you know).
