A small town in rural Western, Kentucky that boasts a population of only 229 people surged ahead yesterday in the online competition that allows users the chance to demand that John Edwards visit their town.
Columbus, KY, an hours drive from the nearest McDonalds, now leads Los Angeles in online voting and stands poised to have John Edwards visit the town. The closest international airport is a three hour’s drive away.
Help Columbus, KY win the online vote and have John Edwards visit real rural America.
This week Kossackers have helped Columbus, KY and we are turning to you again to ask you to help us win this! The media has picked up on the story and the largest daily in the Purchase Region ran a story on it yesterday. That’s helped some, but getting the story out to the netroots is the only way we can win this.
Rural America is always left out during the Presidential elections and this is our chance to have our voice heard. Like many rural communities across the south, job loss in the face of rising healthcare costs and education costs have crippled the local economy in Columbus. We want to see John Edwards come to real rural America and address the problems we face and hear his plan for revitalizing small American communities like ours!
Because of an increase in demand I have set up a website called www.cometocolumbusky.com, which will take you directly to the vote. Although Columbus doesn’t have the sheer number of people to win this, we have the drive.
Help us by voting today and passing this along to your friends!
