39 years and a few minutes ago, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in Los Angeles. This will always be one of the saddest events in American history.
Many of you have never heard or seen his eulogy, delivered by his brother Teddy. It is one of the most tragic, moving things I've ever heard. Every Democrat (and every American) needs to listen to these words. If you've heard it before, listen again. What would Bobby say about Iraq, immigration, our standing in the world, and the incredible anger boiling through America again today? I think we know.
Watch this video. This is part of our legacy as Democrats:
I am a Democrat and decided to work in Democratic Party politics, more than any other one person, because of Bobby Kennedy. His story is one of evolution - of being willing to change. In so doing he became a great moral leader. Our party has all the moral heritage it needs. The words, the deeds and the ideals are there. It just needs leaders with moral courage.

And the Mindless Menace of Violence speech.
I hope as many people see this today as possible.
