Dear Progressive Netroots Activists:
We had a tremendous 2006 Election up and down the ballot and progressive bloggers played a very important role in our victories. Whether it was fact checking the mainstream media, organizing protests, informing voters with the issues, getting out the vote, helping give everyday Democrats a voice, breaking important stories or labeling Dick DeVos the Amway Guy, the Michigan Democratic Party wouldn't have had the successes it did without all of your hard work and dedication.
We need to build on our 2006 successes for 2008, when we are working to:
Reelect Senator Carl LevinReelect our Democratic Congressional DelegationDefeat incumbent Republican Members of CongressHold on to and expand our State House majorityWin Education Board RacesElect more Democrats to local officeWin MI for the Democratic presidential candidate for a record 5th consecutive time.
The MDP is working to be on the cutting edge of online activism.
We are proud to be the first state party in the nation to host a Bloggers Caucus at our State Conventions. Our voter file is available to activists online. We were the first state party to offer Internet voting for a presidential caucus in 2004 andThe Michigan Democratic Party is the only party in the 50 states to offer online voting in 2008.We are excited to have an Internet Outreach Director on staff to help better facilitate our Netroots outreach.
We are working hard to improve our online presence everyday. While we continue to grow, I'm excited to offer my first three video podcasts here on DailyKos.
Thanks,
Mark Brewer
