The Times-Picayune in New Orleans is not fair and balanced--surprise!
Yesterday's Metro section on page B-7 of The Times-Picayune ran a half-page editorial telling of 5 possible Republican contenders for Jindal's District 1 House seat. No mention was made of the only bona-fide candidate officially registered with the FEC---me.
East Jefferson Bureau Chief Drew Broach went on to write, "The chances of a Democrat taking the seat for the first time in three decades are nil, as voter registration in today's 1st is only 39 percent Democratic." I questioned this percentage, but Broach is on vacation.
I have news for those who think the seat is cushioned and reserved for the next Republican golden boy. This feisty Democrat lady is in this race to win decent representation for her people. My 1st quarter report has my campaign at $30,000 which is a good beginning for a Katrina-burdened area. I am a viable candidate and a formidable opponent who plans to represent all my people---senior citizens, children, working middle class, small business owners.
Let the political professional sharks devour themselves. I will be left standing head and shoulders above them with no commitment to anything or anyone except my people and my conscience. Perhaps the conservative-leaning Times-Picayune monopoly will then print my press releases. Perhaps then, too, the Louisiana Democratic Party will finally acknowledge my presence. Maybe they will even refund the $500 they demanded for voter lists which Republican candidates are given free by their party.
