All of us know the value of trying to eat right and exercise.
Yet, about 119 million Americans, or nearly 65%, of adult Americans are either overweight or obese. Some of it is self-imposed and not the result of injury, illness or genetics. The lure of fast/processed foods are tempting with our busy lifestyles. And let's face it, it is cheap especially with families who are cash strapped. We watch TV instead of walking around the block. We eat don't eat enough vegetables and fruit. We all know this. No one wants to be lectured or shamed into changing our ways.
However, Mike Huckabee, the former Twinkie addict/preacher, had some fiery words for Michael Moore and those who struggle with their weight.
Are overweight people to blame for rising health care costs? Should we blame them for high premiums and insurance company windfalls?
Well, that is exactly what the former overweight Arkansas Gov. Mike "Twinkie" Huckabee did yesterday. He thought it was appropriate to tell not only Michael Moore, but to all the millions of people with weight issues, that they are the cause of the health care crisis! Huckabee, issued his sanctimonious opinion on Moore and health care by saying:
Frankly, Michael Moore is an example of why the health care system costs so much in this country. He clearly is one of the reasons that we have a very expensive system. I know that from my own personal experience.....

Mmmm, so if Michael Moore succeeds in losing weight on his diet program, will our premiums go down? Oh, and by the way, Michael Moore's blood pressure and cholesterol are very good and hardly show any evidence that he is to blame for the hight cost of medical care:
My cholesterol was 132, my blood sugar was 91, and my blood pressure was 115 over 65. Those numbers have dropped; my cholesterol used to be 154, my sugar was 100, and my blood pressure was always pretty good even though I’m significantly overweight.
We need real health care reform. Health care reform is not telling people to go on a diet! Huckabee does not blame the crooked for profit system, the insurance companies or the bribed politicians for this mess. He not only blames fat people for the crisis, but infers to all of us, "If you get sick, it is your fault!"
But what do you expect from a man like Huckabee who thinks Fred Flinstone and his pet Dino were probably real?
