I posted a diary late last night on the Village Voice's article on how the insular nature of Deaniacs hurt the campaign.

I posted to the DFA blog about how the special interest attack against Kerry was stupid and not founded in truth and he should be attacked for other things (like having no convictions). i got called a troll. Last summer, i posted on BFA on how inadequate i found Dean's medicare response to Gephardt and also got called a troll and a gephardt dupe or something. now if those are the reactions i got, i can imagine what the obnoxious drivel that a lot of journalists have received over the last few months (as has been publicly stated by Amy Sullivan and Alterman). Deaniacs alienated folks and continue to with their behavior. saying that other folks also have obnoxious supporters is not really a good excuse because it was nowhere near as sustained, visible and aggressive as we have become known for. And it's a shame that passion backfired on us, but perhaps deservedly so.
