are on MSNBC now discussing the GonzoGate issue. They came to the real concern that I've commented on in several diaries over the last week.
Considering the impeachment movements toward Gonzo looming, and his week to straighten out his testimony (would any of us get that opportunity in sworn testimony in open court?), they are assessing the options.
Jonathan Alter predicts the demise of Gonzo by the end of this week. Cheney publicly supported Gonzo today, but he also did the same for Rumsfeld just before he was sacked.
THE MAJOR CONCERN HERE IS, AS I HAVE BEEN RELAYING FOR A WEEK OR MORE, THE RECESS FOR AUGUST IS COMING UP, THE SENATE LEAVES, BUSH CANS GONZO, AND MAKES ANOTHER DISASTROUS ANTI-AMERICAN, TRAITOROUS RECESS APPOINTMENT WITHOUT SENATE QUESTIONING OR APPROVAL!!
WE CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN.
I have written to and called Reid's office several times last week in anticipation of the August Recess. Also, I thought it appropriate that if the Iraqi parliament was willing to take an August break, leaving our troops to fight their political civil war, then our Senate, at the very least, should stay in session.
PLEASE CONTACT HARRY REID'S OFFICE AND EMPLORE, DEMAND THAT HE KEEP THE SENATE IN SESSION THROUGH THE AUGUST TIMEFRAME TO SHOW SOME SUPPORT FOR OUR TROOPS, GET SOME MORE WORK DONE, AND TO DIVERT BUSH'S EFFORTS TO MAKE ANY DISASTROUS RECESS APPOINTMENTS!
C'mon folks! I don't want to have to be on here in a week or so posting a diary titled: I TOLD YOU SO!
Cheney/Bush is very capable of this. This is not a good time to assume he wouldn't.

Bush's Summer Hires Targeted
May 20, 2007 12:09 PM ET | Permanent Link
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has a little trick up his sleeve that could spell an end to President Bush's devilish recess appointments of controversial figures like former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton. We hear that over the long August vacation, when those types of summer hires are made, Reid will call the Senate into session just long enough to force the prez to send his nominees who need confirmation to the chamber. The talk is he will hold a quickie "pro forma" session every 10 days, tapping a local senator to run the hall. Senate workers and Republicans are miffed, but Reid is proving that he's the new sheriff in town. www.usnews.com
