Seriously, do we have lawyers, particularly those who are constitutional law experts or others who are deeply familiar with the congressional investigation process. The question is: Does a former Presidential Staffer such as Harriett Meyers continue to be in in the protection of executive privilege even if they are no longer...
in the administration. They are technically private citizens unless I am missing something. Do they have special status in perpetuity such that they can invoke executive privilege despite being private citizens that have left government service.
Could congress not just grant them immunity and investigate them under oath?
I want to know the unvarnished answer becaue presidential and executive privilege seems to be unapplicable in the case of private citizens.
