Today, the Angry Rakkasan posted this diary with links to ads featuring vets and loved ones promoting the war in Iraq. Consider this a follow up diary.
I asked myself WHO THE HELL ARE these people? And why are they doing this? Here's who they are and why they did it. Their motives differ. First motive, money!
According to Freedom's Watch the vet who lost his legs and walks on prosthetics is John Kriesel. As you might imagine, a young guy who lost both legs might have some really serious financial problems, and this one does... to the tune of $500,000.
John's site is basically devoted to raising half a million bucks.
Our goal is to raise $500,000 to build a handicap accessible home for the Kreisels per Johns amputation now demands many changes to their living conditions.
John Kriesel has special needs with his sleeping and the bed that he will need to purchase does not have insurance policies in place to cover this and will cost $4000.00. The donation will go towards SGT John Kreisel's bed..
Next motive, fame, maybe? Widow Laura Youngblood, according to Freedom's Watch
... lost 2 family members to al Qaeda terrorists, first her uncle Henry a New York City fireman who lost his life on 9/11, and than her husband Travis died fighting for our freedom in Iraq.
Laura is a Faux News and Hannity star. Expose the Left has this to say about their dear girl.
Youngblood has made it “her mission” to challenge anti-war mother Cindy Sheehan. Hannity & Colmes has dubbed her the “anti-Sheehan”.
Now there's a mom who lost her son. I'm a mom myself. I have a 22 year old son and a 19 year old son. So I have no doubt that Vicki Strong is completely anguished by her son's loss and trying to make meaning out of his death. According to Military City Jesse Strong just graduated from Liberty University, a fundamentalist Baptist school founded in 1971 by Jerry Falwell. Sadly Vicki and her son hail from about as deep within the base as you can get.
And then there is another grieving mom and the visit from the president. Yes, Andrew Robinson who lost use of both his legs received a visit from noneother than the commander-in-chief. As reported in Local paper Leatherneck News this will really piss you off.
"It was very emotional and he's a very nice man," Carole Robinson said. The president prayed with the family and it had a profound impact on her son, who wrote in his first e-mail from Florida: "Please keep the prayers coming, because when that many people are praying for you, you can feel it like arms around you. Another man sympathized with this feeling as he prayed with my family and me. And that was the president of the United States."
Oh and did I mention the Robinson family has dire financial problems?
Listing all the agencies and groups that have pitched in to help the family, Carole Robinson said: "There's just been so many people supportive in so many ways." She said that 7-year-old twins from Bordentown, Rebecca and Matthew St. Jean, held their own fundraiser for Andrew over the Labor Day weekend and raised $280.
Their motives vary, but the Ari Fleisher machine has done a great job finding each one of these people and pushing exactly what buttons will work. It's up to us to expose this without denigrating the subjects.
