A while back over at my home-base blog TexasKaos, txsharon mentioned that she'd be coming to Austin for the opening night show of No End In Sight.
So, I have been stressing for a while that I wouldn't get to see No End In Sight with my Texas Kaos buddies on August 31st. I'm committed to being at the Labor Day Fish Fry (which I certainly look forward to-I love hush puppies), and the schedule conflict has been a real downer.
Then I checked the Travis County Democratic Party calendar and saw that this Thursday, Dan Grant will be screening the film at Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar. More below the fold...
Hat tip to BOR for more details on this unique screening hosted by one of the candidates for Congressional District 10.
Dan's experience on the ground in Iraq gives him a unique, insider's perspective on the war and its effects. While in Iraq, he was an advisor to the Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq for the Iraqi elections, and was a consultant to international military forces and local leaders in Baghdad, Basra, Fallujah, and Mosul.
I've already got my ticket. If you can, come out. If you can't, be sure to check it out on Friday at the Arbor Cinema with txsharon and others of the Texas Kaos gang. Hell, if you can make it to both, DO IT!
And, if you guys are going to hang out after the Friday show, somebody please call me and tell me where you are! I'd love to have a drink and share your thoughts on the film.
